Choose the right manufacturing process

Compare precision, strength, finish, and lead time

SLA

SLA Stereolithography

High-precision resin, smooth surface, ideal for appearance prototypes. Supports hollowing.

Standard lead time2 days
SLS

SLS Nylon Sintering

Nylon powder sintering, no supports, strong functional parts. Hollowable with drain holes.

Standard lead time3 days
MJF

MJF Multi Jet Fusion

HP MJF process, dimensionally stable, great for low-volume parts.

Standard lead time3 days
FDM

FDM Fused Deposition

Cost-effective, ideal for structural validation. Infill adjustable (usually sparse inside).

Standard lead time2 days
METAL

Metal 3D Printing

SLM metal laser melting for high-strength metal parts. Hollowable.

FAQ

Which 3D file formats are supported?+
STL is recommended for instant online quoting. STEP / STP / OBJ / 3MF are accepted and reviewed by engineers.
How is weight and price calculated?+
We parse STL to get volume, surface area, and bounding box. Metal/resin/nylon parts are treated as solid (or hollow with your chosen wall thickness); FDM uses your infill setting. Effective volume × density × price/g × waste factor gives material cost.
What about hollow interiors in the model?+
An STL is a surface mesh, so any interior cavity is already excluded from volume. If you want to reduce material further, enable Hollow and set a wall thickness — we estimate the shell volume.
Does FDM infill affect price much?+
Yes. FDM parts are usually sparse (20%–40% infill), which significantly changes material cost. Adjust from 5%–100% on the quote page.
Not sure which process to choose?+
Check our process comparison or contact an engineer for a recommendation based on use, precision and cost.
Do you support single prototypes or low volume?+
Yes. From a single prototype to low-volume and mass production, larger quantities get lower unit prices.
What tolerance can 3D printing achieve?+
Typical tolerance is ±0.1mm, depending on process, material and geometry.
What are the lead times? Can I expedite?+
Standard lead time is 2–5 days, with samples in as fast as 24h. Rush service is available.
Do you offer engineering review and DFM?+
Yes. Engineers perform manufacturability analysis and flag thin walls, overhangs and other risks.
